Students analyze the main problems of philosophical inquiry beginning with an introduction to the nature of philosophy and a logic module that includes basic logic concepts, syllogistic reasoning, Venn diagrams, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and informal fallacies. Students also explore topics in philosophy such as religion, knowledge and perspectives on truth, rationality and cognitive relativism, philosophy of mind issues including monism/dualism, personal identity and immortality, freedom of the will and determinism, theoretic and applied ethics, and the meaning of human existence. |
